[ENG] Vita Soul Wilmering works as an artist, film maker, performer and musician. From 2019 - 2021 she worked as an artist in residence at De Ateliers, Amsterdam and she currently works and lives in Den Haag and has her studio at Billytown.
Starting her projects from a basis in documentary film, she considers the performative space which a camera evokes an instrument to start friendships and to communicate on an intimate level with the people she works with, by integrating the making process in the work itself.
Through the use of fictional or performative elements, she makes people shift between roles and reality, to visualize questions such as how one adresses personal and familial history, or how we deal with loss and absence.
